Meet the Coaches
The Bullitt East Archery Team is coached and assisted by a wonderful group of individuals who give their time, sweat, and sometimes even tears to make the BEHS Archery Team the best that it can be. Lets take a look at the people who make it all possible.
Head Coach
Jessica Vansuch
Jessica has lived in Mt. Washington for 21 years. She was born & raised in New York. What got Jessica interested in archery? She says “My kids. My oldest started shooting Archery when he was in 5th grade. My youngest started shooting in 4th grade. I loved watching them shoot, so I got my own bow and started practicing with them!” She has been coaching archery for the past 6.5 years. This is her fourth season coaching at Bullitt East, and first year as head coach. Coach Vansuch has her BAI certification. Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and reading books when she’s not coaching. From Coach Jessica: “I have really enjoyed learning more about Archery and connecting with the team. The kids on the team have grown so much since I started coaching. I really enjoy getting to know them and getting them out of their shells.”
Assistant Coach
Bryan Burroughs
Bryan has lived in Mt. Washington for 46 years. He is a 1991 graduate of BEHS. When asked how he became interested in archery, he said “I have been an avid bow hunter for over 25 years”. Bryan has been coaching archery for 11 years, and started coaching at Bullitt East in 2017. Coach Burroughs has his BAI certification. When he’s not coaching archery, Bryan enjoys shooting his bow, participating in shooting sports, spending time with the family and spoiling his granddaughter. From Coach Bryan: “Working with the kids at practice is one of my favorite things to do but being just a teeny, tiny part that helps them become “great humans” (Reid Cornell) is way more important than seeing them shoot a 290.”
